Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi bin Raja Mohamed Noor served the Malaysian Armed Forces with distinction for 42 years, retiring in 2018 as the 19th Chief of Defence Forces. He previously held key leadership roles, including the 25th Chief of Army, Army Field Commander, and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Headquarters.
Following his retirement, he was appointed to various leadership and advisory roles, most notably as Chairman of the Armed Forces Fund (LTAT) until February 2024. There, he led strategic reforms aimed at strengthening LTAT’s governance, realigning its structure, and driving performance across its subsidiaries to enhance long-term resilience and sustainability.
A respected figure in defence leadership and diplomacy, Tan Sri Raja Affandi also holds a Master of Defence Studies from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Science in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan.
In recognition of his service, he has received numerous honours, including the Darjah Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang Yang Amat Gemilang (DPKT) from Brunei (2017), Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (DUBC) from Singapore (2018), and Darjah Panglima Mangku Negara (PMN) from Malaysia (2017).
